Ten views of Florida
Door
Uittreksel
Russell Maret juxtaposes Florida's recent spate of book bans with the state's history of colorful tourist brochures, which "advertise prosperity, fun, and/or safety, employing vignettes and Grand Tour-style 'views'," showing that "Florida is open for business, so long as you are the right kind of person." Florida's apparent preoccupation with hiding, editing, and outright banning anything viewed as different (hence dangerous) inspired Maret to imagine the content of some recently banned books based solely on their titles, resulting in a series of richly colored linocuts and photopolymer prints.
