"For almost 300 years pocket-watch stands provided the nobility, the clergy and bourgeois society a stylish way to safeguard pocket watches. This publication features 843 objects from a south German private collection in a first overview of the entire genre of pocket-watch stands and documents their wealth of designs from the Baroque to the early twentieth century.
