Uittreksel
"SPKD (Serbian Educational and Cultural Society) 'Prosvjeta' Sarajevo celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2012 by organizing the exhibition of Lazar Drljača. This event also commemorated the 130th anniversary of the birth of this painter who was one of the first holders of SPKD 'Prosvjeta' stipend grant. He left a deep trace not only with his artistic work that belongs to the apex of European painting, but also with his way of life. The task in front of the authors of this exhibition, Vojislav Vujanović and Ljubica Žikić, seemed at times unsurpassable, at least when it comes to the idea to gather the works of Lazar Drljača from all the institutions and private owners in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the war, some of the works were stolen from the institutions. Finally, in spite of the difficulties, they managed to acquire sixty-two works to be exhibited. [...] Because of an enormous interest in the artistic work of Lazar Drljača we felt the need to publish the second updated edition of the catalogue. The new edition of the catalogue is a result of an inter-entity and regional cooperation. It contains nine additional works: reproductions from the National Museum of Belgrade, Croatian Lodge 'Herzog Stjepan Kosaca from Mostar, Tobacco Factory Sarajevo, as well as reproductions from a private collection of Sanjin Agić (USA). The second part of the catalogue also contains the photographs from the exhibition openings in Sarajevo and Mostar, critical review of the exhibition and visitors' notes from the Book of Impressions."-- From foreword.
