  • Manuscript printer's copy of Hoser's treatise on collecting and the setting-up of picture galleries and cabinets. Hoser printed his treatise later in 1845: the published version is very rare. Hoser's treatise deals with all the practical issues of displaying art and the setting-up of picture galleries. There are rules and advise on lightening, hanging the pictures, best ways of viewing them, including perspective, and framing them.
