Uittreksel
The Herzog Anton Ulrich-Museum Braunschweig is one of the largest and most important art museums in Germany-- with a total of some 190,000 objects in its collection. The small selection of "50 art histories" from this wealth is not only a chronologically wide series of works of art from "Ancient Egypt to the present day." Through the long collection history, which partly goes back to the 16th century, the narrative history, the relationship between a work and its respective audience, is formed. We learn about the views of the artists, the intentions of the clients, the commitment of collectors as well as sometimes of a not always straightforward estimation by the public taste.
