Conditions
Rijksmuseum Research Library and Study Room Prints & Drawings
In addition to the general terms and conditions of the Rijksmuseum, the following conditions apply to visits to the Rijksmuseum Research Library and the Study Room Prints & Drawings:
- Access is only permitted with a valid ID, materials requested in advance, and a confirmed workspace reservation. Your reservation does not grant access to the rest of the museum.
- Please leave coats, bags, and umbrellas at the cloakroom or lockers (both free of charge). A transparent plastic bag is allowed. You can request a plastic bag at the cloakroom. Our bags are made from recycled plastic and can be reused on your next visit.
- Bringing your own books is not permitted.
- Food and drinks are not allowed.
- All materials must be consulted on site.
- You will receive instructions on handling works on paper (drawings, prints, photographs, rare books) and other fragile materials upon arrival.
- Photography and use of the scanner are permitted for personal use. For works on paper and items from the library’s special collections, permission from a study room staff member is required.
- Instructions from staff must be followed at all times.
