Abstract

"Since 2002, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) has promoted the development of technology art for over two decades, and long strived to push the envelope for Taiwanese digital art; moreover, adopting the three major directions of "deep rooting," "exchange," "alliance," NTMoFA hopes to broaden the horizons and nurture the potentials of Taiwanese technology art. At the same time, with rapid changes and developments of technology and related international industries, NTMoFA has also kept pace with the times and gradually expanded from talent incubation and venue exchange to co-creative projects between institutions, institutions and talents, and interdisciplinary teams, deepening cooperation in different aspects and creating more possibilities. At the heart of this year's Technology Art Venues Innovation Project was the international technology art exhibition themed Are You Working Now? co-curated by British curator Mike Stubbs and Taiwanese curator Ming Turner, which invited a total of 13 artists/artist groups from eight countries, including U.K., France, Japan, and Germany, to jointly consider the modes of working in contemporary society and conversion of production methods; also, by exhibiting diverse and inspiring works, the exhibition interacted and dialogued with the public and tried to ask and define: 'What is work?' Artists responded to the theme of the exhibition through own creative methods and issues of concern; in addition to works of sound and light, and video art, this year's exhibition also explored the relationships among labor, recreation, and entertainment, through diverse creative methods, such as digital combination of graphic painting and NFT, computer Al-generated art, performance art, and large installation"-- Director's foreword (page 5).
