Abstract

Summary: Begleitbuch zur Ausstellung der Staatlichen Kunsthalle Karlsruhe vom 11. September bis 28. November 2010. Die Karlsruher Kunsthalle verwahrt einen bis heute nicht gehobenen künstlerischen Schatz an Werken der Italienreisenden. Skizzenbücher, Zeichnungen, Aquarelle, Ölstudien, Kartons, Gemälde und Graphiken zeigen sowohl das Interesse an den Zeugnissen der Antike und der alten Kunst als auch die Begeisterung für die südliche Landschaft und das farbenfrohe Volksleben. The exhibition displays works by travelers to Italy. Sketchbooks, drawings, watercolors, studies in oils, painting and graphics depict an interest in the art and artifacts of antiquity, as well as an enthusiasm for the southern landscape and the colorful life of its people. Exhibition: Staatlichen Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe (11.09. - 28.11.2010).
