Abstract
The sixteenth century Dutch singer, choirmaster and composer Joannes Tollius grew up during the Reformation and the Dutch Revolt. As a refugee he built a remarkable and highly successful career, first in Italy and later in Copenhagen. He left behind an interesting oeuvre which deserves the attention of musicians and the concert audience.
