The Chapel of San Lorenzo: transformations, restorations, rediscovery

Abstract

This new work describes the techniques and practices that were undertaken to restore the frescoes in the Chapel of San Lorenzo in Rome. This chapel is inside the Sanctuary of the Holy Stairs or Sancta Sanctorum, and the artworks inside the chapel needed significant restoration.
