Abstract

"Curated by Vicente Todolí, former director of Tate Modern (2003-2010), the exhibition brings together installations, sculptures, personal books, cabinets of small figures, drawings, and prints that reveal the artist's profound connection with the great masters of the Prado, such as Velázquez and Goya, and with the traditions of the Renaissance, Mannerism, and Baroque. In addition to this collection, the Prado has allowed works to be moved from temporary exhibition spaces and displayed more prominently in some of the permanent collection galleries (Room 12/VelTaken from gallery's website.ázquez and Room 28/Rubens), as well as in spaces such as the south staircase near the Murillo entrance and the plaza by the Goya Gate." --Gallery website.
