Abstract

"Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947) was one of the twentieth century's most influential artists. In brilliantly shimmering images he captured the people and places around him - family members, interiors, his garden, the bustle of the streets, the view from his window and many nudes. With bold perspectives and an original treatment of colour he created an utterly personal universe that was instrumental in shaping the work of many Nordic painters.
