Sailor’s sea chest, 18th century. There was no privacy for anyone sailing on board a ship. Personal possessions were kept in a sea chest. This chest is covered in sealskin with wrought-iron mounts.

    Koffer van eikenhout, bekleed met een zeehondenhuid en beslagen met ten dele tot eenvoudige ormanenten uitgesmeed ijzer. De koffer is achthoekig, heeft een slot en twee overvallen voor hangsloten en twee hengsels aan de smalle kanten. Binnenin twee schotten.
