Winter from the Series
Onchi Kōshirō, 1927
Onchi is one of Elise’s favourite artists. Although he composed this print almost exclusively with passages in black, many details are still visible. For example, you can see that the lady is wearing a beret and has a stole wrapped around her shoulders. Onchi combines the familiar theme of fashionable women with unexpected elements. If you look closely, you can see a cat tucked away in the stole.
