Explanatory note

  • Het Rijkswapen is een aanwijzing voor een datering van het model in of na 1815. De Daedalus is geregistreerd in Lloyds Register of Shipping van 1819. Zij zou zijn gebouwd in Emden (Duitsland) in 1806 als ééndeks schoener. Zij voer op de lijnen Londen-Amsterdam en Londen-Bremen. In 1809 stond zij te boek als galjoot, in 1810 als schip, in 1811 als galjoot en in 1816 als schoener.
