Ayomi Yoshida (mentioned on object), 2001
Patterns and textures play an important role in Ayomi Yoshida’s work. In this piece, she explored the relationship between her physical and mental state, and the way the gouge carves into the woodblock. The depth of a groove in the wood may vary from day to day –sometimes deep, sometimes shallow. These differences become visible only when the artist prints the block.
