Explanatory note
Deze modellen stellen de scheizeilra's van de Piet Hein voor, in 1833 als linieschip op stapel gezet, uiteengenomen en in 1853-1856 als eerste Nederlands schroefstoomfregat afgebouwd door A.E. Tromp in Amsterdam, lang 59.62 m, herdoopt de Admiraal van Wassenaer. Samen met een aantal andere modellen van rondhouten kan de gehele grote mast gevormd worden.

These models represent the main skysail yards of the Piet Hein, a ship of the line that was laid down in 1833, taken apart and re-assembled as the first Dutch screw steam frigate Admiraal van Wassenaer,1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 185. 59.62 metres long, built by August Elize Tromp (1801-1871) in Amsterdam from 1853 to 1856.2A.J. Vermeulen, De schepen van de Koninklijke Marine en die der gouvernementsmarine 1814-1962, The Hague 1962, p. 55. Together with a number of other models of spars an entire mainmast can be assembled.
