Tray

anonymous, 1730 - 1770

The tea caddy is decorated with the arms of the De Wendt family. Eyso de Wendt served as a Dutch East India Company (VOC) merchant in Canton in South China in the late 1740s. The tray is decorated with the arms of the Clifford family. Originally from England, a branch of the family ran a successful banking firm in Amsterdam.

    Rechthoekig blad van wit email op koper. Veelkleurig beschilderd met in het midden het wapen van Clifford en in de hoeken bloem- en bladranken. Op de rand geometrische patronen op ee groen fond. Op de achterkant in het midden een veelkleurige tak met bloemen en vruchten. In het midden van de randen ranken in blauw.
