Toilet Set

The most important element of this toilet set is the Chinese lacquerwork, which was very popular in Europe. Everarda Catharina Sophia van Braam Houckgeest received this toilet chest with a mirror as a gift from her father, who had it made in Canton, China. Her initials are visible on the accompanying toilet boxes.

    Rechthoekige doos behorend bij de spiegelstandaard AK-RAK-2003-8-1. Bedekt met zwarte lak met gouden decoraties. Op de deksel een monogram ECVB omgeven door een smalle b and met bladmotieven en vier kleine bloemen. Rond het centrale medaillon een bloemband en buiten deze band is het oppervlak gevuld met geometrische motieven. Op de zijkanten losse bloemtakken.
