Geïllustreerd album met 36 kyôka (komische gedichten) over verschillende schelpen; samengesteld door de dichter Akera Kankô (1736-1799). De afbeeldingen van op het strand aangespoelde schelpen zijn van de hand van Utamaro; blauwe kaft waarop in goud golven en vogels; linksboven titelstrook; negen bladen; twee pagina`s, voorwoord; acht illustraties (van twee pagina`s elk), mensen op het strand, schelpen op het strand, vrouwen schelpen bekijkend; laatste twee pagina`s, nawoord en colofon. Boek bewaard in rode chitsu (uitklapbaar doosje), met op rug: Utamaro Shiohi-no tsuto 1780.
