Spotprent op de mislukte ballonvaart van de Engelsman Boubers te Gent op 3 augustus 1820. Binnen een houten omheining proberen mannen met een heisinstallatie de ballon de lucht in te krijgen, links stapt de ballonvaarder met een voet in het schip onder de ballon. Achter de omheining staan toeschouwers. Naar aanleiding van de eerste Nationale Nijverheidstentoonstelling te Gent in 1820.
