Explanatory note

  • Er waren in Amsterdam gelijktijdig twee theaters die de naam Salon des Variétés droegen, het theater aan de Nes (1839-1868), opgericht door Joseph Duport, en het theater aan de Amstelstraat (1844-1895), opgericht door Nathan Judels en Pierre Boas. Onduidelijk is welk van de twee hier bedoeld wordt.
