Eva Charlotte Pennink-Boelen, c. 1954

In 1954 Eva Pennink went on a trip crisscrossing through America with her sister Hettie and brotherin-law Jan, who had been living in the United States since the 1930s. In the photograph Brother and Sister we see Pennink posing with her brother-in-law, who holds a gigantic bone. You can buy anything in America, from petrol and Coca-Cola to prehistoric remains.
