Explanatory note

  • De prent verscheen ter gelegenheid van het 60-jarig regeringsjubileum van koningin Victoria. De prent is in 1897 uitgegeven en ook als lithografie verschenen in The New Review (juni). In 1899 is de prent opnieuw uitgegeven in de serie 'Twelve Portraits'. Proefdruk vóór oplage in 'Twelve Portraits'. Houtblok is voor die uitgave herbewerkt.
