Plate

This plate was part of a service that King Louis XV of France commissioned as a gift for Maria Carolina, Queen of Naples, on the occasion of the baptism of her second daughter, Louisa, in 1774. Louis XV was godfather to the princess.

    Rond bord van veelkleurig beschilderd porselein, met een geschulpte rand. Op het plat zijn in bloemenranken de letters CL geschilderd, waarboven een krans. Op de rand zijn drie manden gevuld met bloemen, drie ovalen waarin een putto en zes bladerkransen geschilderd. Langs de rand loopt een blauwe bies waarop een bladslinger in goud. Het bord is gemerkt.
