Explanatory note

  • Dit soort ankerstokken werd bij de Marine in 1863 ingevoerd voor ankers waarvan de stok met een spie vastgezet werd en die dus geen klein kruis binnen de ankerstok hadden; zij werden meestal uit één stuk hout gemaakt.

Entry

Model of a wooden anchor stock made in two halves and held together with iron hoops. Where the shank comes through the stock there are iron straps on the sides and reinforcements at the top and bottom around the hole.

This kind of anchor stock was introduced in the Dutch Navy in 1863 for anchors that had the stock fastened with a wedge and did not have a small cross inside the stock. Usually this stock was made of a single piece of timber.
