    • annotation: ‘“THE PILLOW” / used in the “Grant State Casket,” manufactured by the STEIN / MFG. Co., ROCHESTER, N. Y., was made out of the finest / light cream satin, circled with white rose trimming. The top / of the pillow is decorated with ribbon embroidered flowers, in / the form of a circle about the head, while in the center in for- / get-me-nots are the raised initials “U. S. G.” This pillow / is the most magnificent one ever made and has elicited many / words of praise. // We hereby certify that this photograph was taken from the original / pillow made by us and designed for the casket of the late Gen. Graut [sic]. / STEIN MANUFACTURING CO. // Sworn to before me this 20th day / of July, 1885. / S. L. DOBBIN, Com. Of Deeds. // J. M. FOX, PHOTOGRAPHER.’
