    Gordel van zilver, gevormd uit gewrongen maliën, een sluitgesp en een ring waaraan platte sierstukken bevestigd zijn. Hierop geniën en liggende vrouwenfiguren. Stadskeur Keulen (), meesterteken: ABIC in schild.

Explanatory note

  • In the early seventeenth century silver belts must have been a regular component of Dutch households; quite a few are mentioned in probate inventories and other sources. Often they were imported from Flemish émigré centres of goldsmithing in Germany, such as Köln. This belt is a good example of about 1600, with its finely etched figurines on its ends.
