Evening Cloaks from the Gazette du Bon Ton

By the 1920s, cloaks were no longer considered regular daytime attire, but they were still worn over fancy evening gowns. This called for luxurious fabrics, pref-erably by Bianchini Férier, such as velvet lined with ermine, or quilted silk, lined with sable fur. Poiret’s evening grown from 1921 pairs blue brocade with gold lamé. His cloak is also in gold lamé, with a satin lining.
