Tazza

anonymous, 1635

The new building for the Orphanage in Amsterdam was completed in 1635. In celebration, the regents of the Orphanage ordered four silver tazzas as a gift for the most important builder of the home. The four regents themselves are depicted on the flat basin of the cup, while the inscription around it explains the reason underlying the gift.
