Three plates with biblical scenes

anonymous, c. 1670 - c. 1685

These plates were never used to eat from, but were hung on walls or placed on the edge of wainscoting as decoration. The broad, white rims of the plates give the impression of a painting within a frame. The scenes are: Christ’s Entry into Jerusalem, the Conversion of Saul and Paul’s Shipwreck on Malta.
