De Metaale Pot, c. 1680 - c. 1690

This dish stands out not so much for its decorations, but rather the empty spaces between them. The painter boldly left large areas of the plate unpainted, which was rarely done in Delft. Precisely because of this emptiness and because the scene is off-centre, this plate has a decidedly Asian appearance.

    Schotel met licht geschulpte rand, van faience met een chinoiserie decoratie: beschilderd in blauw op witte, iets blauwige, glazuur met op het plat drie figuren bij een hek. Op de rand bloesemtakken en twee cartouches met een rozet. Rand achterzijde met vakken waarin strepen en cirkels.
