Collection box of the Canisius Congregation study fund. ‘I have resolved to save at least one guilder a year for the ...’. c. 1930. The Canisius Congregation was founded in 1871 in Maastricht by and for the benefit of Catholic workers. The study fund enabled novices preparing for missionary work as priests to build up savings: 2 cents a week, 10 cents a month, 25 cents a quarter or one guilder a year.

    Ovaal blikken busje met deksel; in de deksel een gleuf. Het geheel is afwisselend blauw en geel. Links en rechts is een duif met gespreide vleugels afgebeeld. Langs de bovenzijde (voor- en achterzijde van het busje) en middenvoor een doorlopend opschrift; langs de onderzijde (voorzijde van busje) eveneens een opschrift. Op de onderzijde van het busje is een rood merk met zwarte tekst geplakt.
