This volume presents a closer look into the painting of Mahamayuri Vidyarajni (colour on silk)—in possession of Ninnaji, the head temple of the Omura branch of the Shingon sect of Buddhism— through fluorescence imaging and near-infrared reflectance imaging spectroscopy. It is designated as one of Japan's National Treasures and dated by some historians as early as the Northern Song Dynasty.
