Summary: Bernheim-Jeune, the only one of Renoir's three great art dealers still in business today, have published four books on Renoir since 1913. In 1931, Messrs Josse and Gaston Bernheim-Jeune published Atelier de Renoir, one of the most important reference works on the artist. We think that a catalogue raisonné must be above all practical and user friendly, which is why we have chosen to classify the 1030 listed works in volume 3 not only chronologically but also both by subject and type.
