The snapshot is the central form in Marijke van Warmerdam's oeuvre. The images she selects are often everyday moments, such as a feather swirling in the wind, a vapour trail in the sky or a girl doing a handstand. Rather than providing a narrative, the work relies on the visual strength of its themes. This monograph offers a comprehensive overview of her creative output, which embraces film, photography, sculpture, installation and most recently painting. Exhibition: Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam.
