Giovanni Stradano: le più strane e belle invenzioni del mondo

Uittreksel

Florence dedicates for the first time to the painter Giovanni Stradano (Jan van der Straet, Bruges 1523 - Florence 1605) an exhibition at Palazzo Vecchio for the five hundredth anniversary of his birth. An exceptional event for a Flemish artist who worked hard for the city in which he chose to live until the end of his eighty-two years. The exhibition displays around eighty works including paintings, drawings, prints, books, tapestries and instruments, and offers unprecedented insights into Stradano, who was Giorgio Vasari's main and most versatile collaborator in the decoration of the new rooms and the Great Hall - today the Salone dei Cinquecento - of Palazzo Vecchio.--Internet.
