"[This volume] is a collection of sketches and drafts donated by family members of Lin Yu-San from 2018 to 2019. Since then, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts began conducting the organization and reviewing of the artworks for future references and research purposes. However, due to the vast number of pieces and various media used, the donations had to be separated into different batches. The organization project for the first batch began from June of 2018, and was completed in December of the same year. The organization project for the second batch began from December of 2018, and was finished in November of 2019. After undergoing the reviewing process through two collection committee meetings, the collection summed up to a total of 680 pieces/2486 set-pieces (139 pieces were included into the collection in 2018, and 541 pieces in 2019), as well as 14 pieces that were added to the Museum's collection. Over the years, The Catalogue of Collections have only included artworks with collection record numbers. Pieces within the Museum's collection and other research data are not included. Thus, there are 680 pieces/2486 set-pieces in total."-- Editorial notes (page 11).
