Alexandre Hollan: le chemin de l'Arbre = Hollan Sandor : a fa utja

Uittreksel
Sandor Hollan left Hungary in 1956 and has lived in France ever since. He was a student of Chapelain-Midy in the studio of the Parisian École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and then graduated in graphic design from the École Nationale Superieure. From this time onwards his main motif has been the tree, which he generally approaches in series of mostly Indian ink or charcoal drawings. These motionless, simple objects cast in identical light serve as an ideal model for Hollan, who redefines the role of colour in form-creation. In his still-lifes colour defines deeply hidden internal space. In addition to close to 80 works by Sandor Hollan the exhibition will also showcase works by other artists. Exhibition: Szepmuveszeti Muzeum, Budapest, Hungary (29.22.2011-5.2.2012); Musee Fabre de Montpellier Agglomération, Montpellier, France (3.3.2012-3.6.2012).
