Percussieslot voor kanon

IJzeren percussieslot met aftrektouw, op houten plankje. De hamer heeft twee kwadranten bij de as, die tussen twee wangen is gemonteerd. Op de kwadranten is een dubbel aftrektouw bevestigd, dat, indien getrokken, de hamer beweegt. Er is een steun voor de hamer als hij terugslaat. De slotplaat is gemonteerd op een houten plankje, dat de slotverhevenheid voorstelt, met een bout er dwars doorheen.

Entry

Iron percussion lock with lanyard, on a wooden board.

The hammer has two quadrants at the axle that turn between two cheeks. A double lanyard is fastened to these quadrants. The hammer recoils on a stud covered with leather. Two notches on the quadrants also pull back a pair of small shutters that cover the vent. The base is mounted on a wooden board representing a vent patch, fixed together by a bolt that goes straight through.

Two unnumbered locks of foreign origin were found and their identification was determined by elimination only. The inventory list describes the model numbered 1034 as a Russian lock with resemblances to model number 712 (NG-MC-712).1J.M. Obreen et al., handwritten inventory list for items 944 to 1431, 1884, manuscript in HNA 476 RMA, inv. no. 1089, no. 1034. Since they do not fit in elsewhere and are very much alike, we have allotted these catalogue numbers to this pair of locks.
