Abstract

In 'The Power of the Avant-Garde' gaan hedendaagse kunstenaars uit verschillende disciplines in dialoog met hun collega's van de historische avantgarde. Luc Tuymans over Le Grand Cheval van Raymond Duchamp-Villon, Marlène Dumas over haar liefde voor Edvard Munch of John Baldessari over het genie Marcel Broodthaers: het boek legt verrassende linken en werpt zo een nieuw licht op de kracht en invloed van de kunst voor en net na de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
