The Frick Pittsburgh: a guide to the collection
Abstract
The collections at the Frick Art & Historical Center are the combined legacy of famed art collector and industrialist Henry Clay Frick and his daughter Helen. This lively and colourful guide tells the story of Frick's early collecting and his daughter's interest in continuing his mission to purchase great art and make it publicly accessible. The collections, spanning the thirteenth century to the present, are displayed at The Frick Art Museum and Clayton, the Frick family's historic Pittsburgh home. Published following a major expansion of facilities on the over five-acre site, this book serves as a concise introduction to the Frick and the breadth and quality of its collection.
