Abstract

'Variations on a theme' is the title of Richard Green's new Sir William Russell-Flint exhibition. Running from the 4th June - 25th June, this exhibition will showcase a variety of the artists iconic figurative watercolour paintings. Famed for his great technical skill as a water-colourist, Sir William Russell Flint was made President of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours from 1936-1956 and was knighted in 1947. Many eminent beauties of the day modelled for him including Vivien Leigh and Rosalie Crutchley; this exhibition will focus upon his favourite model, Cecilia Green, who features in many of his most popular paintings as the embodiment of his ideal form.--Richard Green.
