Abstract

"In this project Kriemann has embraced the use of an original 1942 Hasselblad reconnaissance camera as both an instrument for taking photographs while also acting as an historical vehicle to explore modernist values and technological progress. The collection of black and white and colour images takes the viewer on a subtle journey through the 20th century - one that includes perfect images of birds in flight; airplanes in flight; aerial photographs of planned urban spaces and buildings; dead birds, stuffed and archived in a museum of natural history; and the inhabitants of an anonymous apartment block"--Publisher's website.
