Monet's Vétheuil in winter

Abstract
"This latest volume in the Frick Diptych series focuses on Monet’s Vétheuil in Winter, painted during one of the coldest winters on record in France—and one of the bleakest chapters in the artist’s life. An insightful and engaging essay by Susan Grace Galassi, curator emerita at The Frick Collection, is paired with a text and new work by renowned artist Olafur Eliasson. His Colour experiment no. 109 (2020)—a response to Monet’s Vétheuil in Winter—will be displayed alongside the Impressionist work at Frick Madison in the fall of 2022. Designed to foster critical engagement and interest specialist and non-specialist alike, each book in this series illuminates a single work in the Frick’s rich collection with an essay by a Frick curator paired with a contribution from a contemporary artist or writer"--Provided by publisher.
