Ivar Arosenius, berättaren

By

Abstract

"The artist Ivar Arosenius suffered from hemophilia and was only thirty years old when he passed away on New Year's Day 1909. During his short career he had managed to provoke the outside world with his disdain for traditional hierarchies, social as well as aesthetic, but had also managed to develop his art in a ways that would make him an unusually popular artist. It has often been emphasized that an essential part of the artist Ivar Arosenius' distinctiveness is his ability to tell stories in pictures. He has been called the "painter poet" and his "tales" have been published in several editions, the best known of which is the picture book Kattresan" -- Provided by publisher.
