Abstract

Alfred Bader, born 1942, has amassed a magnificent collection of seventeenth-century Dutch paintings in the United States. At the heart of the Bader Collection are works by Rembrandt and his pupils. For the first time in Europe, an extensive selection of the most important works can now be seen in the Rembrandt House Museum. In this book we get to know Alfred Bader as a 'searching collector', whose love of art was ignited by the work of Rembrandt.
