Abstract

For the exhibition HERE AND NOW at Museum Ludwig: Dynamic Spaces, the Museum Ludwig collaborated with the platform Contemporary And (C&). Founded by Yvette Mutumba and Julia Grosse, C& sees itself as "a dynamic place where topics and information on contemporary artistic practice are reflected on and interlinked from African perspectives," beyond the Western canon. Departing from the library project C& Center of Unfinished Business, the catalogue provides an insight into how C& works and into the practice of involved artists and collectives: The Nest Collective, CUSS & Vukani Ndebele, Frida Orupabo and Nkiruka Oparah. They all negotiate Black and / or Afrodiasporic identity in words and images.
