Far and away: drawings from the Clement C. Moore collection
Abstract
"This catalogue presents Clement C. ("Chips") Moore's gift to the Morgan Library & Museum, assembled from his collection of Dutch and European drawings. Accompanying an exhibition as part of the Morgan's centennial celebration, the book features a selection of around eighty works that highlight the principal themes of Dutch art and their connections to other European artistic traditions. Works by Hendrick Goltzius, Jacob de Gheyn, Jan Bruegel, Rembrandt van Rijn, Aelbert Cuyp, Jacob van Ruisdael, Peter Lely, Claude Lorrain, Thomas Gainsborough, and John Constable are among those featured. Edited by John Marciari and Jane Shoaf Turner, this publication includes an introductory essay by Turner and entries by an international team of drawings specialists"-- Provided by publisher.
