De Amsterdamse School: verbeelde idealen
By
Abstract
Never before has such a comprehensive photo book about the Amsterdam School been published. Imbued with socialist ideals, the movement manifested itself in all branches of art, design and architecture between 1910 and 1930. The drive and commitment of these artists from the Interbellum has been documented in a penetrating study by Floris Leeuwenberg (Silver Camera and 1999 World Press Photo Award). The most noteworthy buildings, street furniture, interiors, sculptures, textiles, ceramics, glass, wrought ironwork and graphic art are portrayed in their extraordinary unity; expression is the leading theme.
